We've had a very mild, damp, and grey autumn and early winter, so although it's colder, it's been lovely to see some blue skies and sunshine this month.

It's ideal walking weather. Although I don't mind a bit of wind or drizzle, going out into the hills in low cloud or mist with limited visability isn't ideal. I've been lucky enough to pick two really beautiful, clear days for walks over the past fortnight.

It's been great to get out for some exercise and thinking time, and always nice to spot a few of my woolly friends. I also saw a pair of dippers on the River Coquet at Shilmoor, and a buzzard soaring high above the hills. I'm looking forward to hearing my first skylark, then I'll know that spring is on the way.
